Conversations with Emile

More from A. Isaac

As both my sisters can attest, my Dad always ask if we have tickets to Pistons games. He bugs us about it non-stop during the NBA season. And when somebody finally produces tickets, all he does is complain that its too far away from the action and he can’t see.

Last week we had this conversation:

Me: Dad, I think I can get some tickets from work for the Home opener? Do you want to go?

Dad: Where are the seats?

Me: Lower Bowl but they are near the corner.

Dad: Why?

Me: Why what?

Dad: Why are the seats there?

Me: I dont know, I didnt ask Dad. That’s the seats they have.

Dad: Are there better seats?

Me: Yes dad, in general, there are better seats but Im not able to get them

Dad: You should try

Me: Dammit

Me: So do you want to go or not? You’re always complaining about wanting to go to games.

Dad: Maybe

Me: What do you mean maybe? Do you have something else going on?

Dad: No

Me: Then what?

Dad: Maybe you will get better seats and then I will go. (And he chuckles only like Emile can)

Thats my Dad for you.

That is the truth…..Arabic TV has done more damage to the EGYPTIAN Immigrant to Canada/USA then anything else…..they don’t eat right anymore, don’t answer the phone, don’t want to go out, etc.

About the tickets – that is a great response from your dad!!! Classic lol

If Emile is at home watching TV, at least we know he isn’t contributing to the online porn craze in Egypt. That’s a good thing, right?
