We excused his partying.
We excused his drinking.
We excused his gambling.
We loved him because he was fat and didnt care about his weight.
We loved him because his diet was cigarettes, booze, and donuts.
We loved him because he looked like your average Joe.
But most of all, we loved John cause he could play golf and he could play it well.
But lately, John is nothing more than a Nationwide hack trying to cut it with the Big Boys.

Sure, Daly seems like a nice guy, but I have no reason to root for him. Daly is a great example of a guy who has wasted a tremendous amount of God-given ability. It’s tough for me to root for a guy like that.
Yes, I’m the guy who likes Tiger Woods. But, other than Tiger, I find myself rooting for Chris DiMarco, Luke Donald, Paddy Harrington and Stewart Cink.

If you don’t think people love JD, try following him for a round on the PGA. He has the biggest galleries on tour outside of guys not named Eldrick or Phillip.
Butch Harmon is going to whip him into shape and make him a contender again.
“I’m going to hit it as far as I can. If I can find it, I’ll hit it again.” John Daly after he was asked to share his strategy during a major last year.
Yes, people love John Daly. I thoroughly enjoy his gamesmanship.

I wasn’t disputing that the general public doesn’t love Daly, because I have been amongst his crazy followers. I just don’t care for him.

J.D. is dunzo.
Per espn.com:
On Tuesday, swing coach Butch Harmon said he would no longer work with Daly, saying he was not going to waste his time with a two-time major champion who is more interested in drinking than working on his golf game.
“My whole goal for him was he’s got to show me golf is the most important thing in his life,” Harmon said from his golf school in Las Vegas. “And the most important thing in his life is getting drunk.”
