No way. She may have thought that I sucked, but that’s only based on the things that I said and did. I didn’t suck. When her boyfriend (now husband) hit me in the just and said “Actually, I am her boyfried” – that sucked.

Now, granted, that's funny. However, it didn't win him any points in my book. I mean, this guy was covering Notre Dame football for goodness sake, and he thinks that I suck?

He is a weasel and a turd. Well put by the representative of janet jackson's boob.

Based on my personal experience, Grey is by far at the bottom of the scum bucket. Brent Musberger was also pretty bad. Conversely, maybe the classiest guy around was Lynn Swann.

I also recall that interview and thought to myself, “is he really asking about this now?” Jim Gray is such a little weasel, it’s sickening.

Yes, he’s not afraid to ask the tough question, but there is a place and time for everything. It was a celebration for a team of guys who were the best in the world at their job for the past 100 years for goodness sakes. It wasn’t about Pete Rose. It was about a whole collection of guys. Jim Gray essentially spun the focus from a baseball celebration to a “hey, look what I can do”. He turned the focus on himself and Pete Rose…totally inappropriate, in my book.

I also know the story of the chaplin/Michigan State sidelines story. It’s just another example of what a turd this guy is.

I think the exchange you quoted demonstrates Jim Grey is worthy of the "Biggest Jerk in Sports/Journalism Award." Jim Grey's a jerk. Not saying P. Rose doesn't desreve scrutiny, but he was totally blindsided in that "interview." I remember watching it live and being offended by it. Also on Jim Grey's resume: cussing out the team chaplin who was trying to shield a player having a seizure from the cameras and Jim Grey's garbage "reporting."
