5 Tips for a Good Meltdown

More from A. Isaac

Guyism breaks down what you need to do as an coach/athlete to make a good press conference rant.

The Grand Entrance

Like a sixth man off the bench, you gotta come out firing. None of this building up to a crescendo bullsheeit. You show them your angry right out of the gate and then they’ll respect you.

The One Liner

In this “what have you done for me lately” society we live in, its good to give them something memorable. The One-Liner is maybe the most critical piece of any good press conference rant.

The Facial Expression

Communicate non-verbally using different facial expressions or hand gestures. Though this is not a necessity for a great rant, it certainly brings a different flare.

The Wild Card

Don’t be afraid to do something totally outlandish. Give ‘em something they’ve never seen before. It worked for ex-MSU coach John L. Smith.

The Getaway

You know they respect you when you get a standing ovation. Feel free to drop an insult or two as you exit the stage.
