Disney is apparently working on a theme park aimed entirely at adults. But I’m inferring on the subject. Read about it below!

AT a time when investor concerns are mounting over the negative impact an economic downturn could have on Walt Disney Co.’s theme park business, the blogs are buzzing with talk that CEO Bob Iger and the rest of the Mouse House haveplans to add a fifth theme park gate in Florida – a boutique park aimed squarely at adults.

The on-the-drawing-board park is a $520 million after-dark experience in Orlando to be called “Night Kingdom” that will run from 4 p.m. to midnight, and bypass traditional rides for adventure experiences like zip-lines, spelunking, rock-climbing, and night safari.

A high-end meal will reportedly be part of the package, too, according to Disney theme park blogger Jim Hill, who recently reported on Disney’s plan.

Disney reportedly will unveil the plan later this year, with an eye towards a launch of the park – which will be adjacent to its Pleasure Island attraction and have a capacity of 2,000 guests a day – in October 2011.

I may just be making this up entirely, but doesn’t Disneyworld have like a huuuuuuge gay following? I know they have that Big Gay Weekend or whatever where all gays go and vigorously sodomize each other while riding the Pirates of the Caribbean, but I think beyond that they just love it. Probably for all the rainbowish colors and gay symbiotic relationship with Mickey and Goofy (and probably Donald Duck too since he’s all about not wearing pants).

Anyway an adults-only theme park? As a mid 20s straight male, I’m not going. It just seems like something vaguely creepy. Though I am easily swayed by interesting marketing, primarily that which consists of sock puppets telling me what to do or bright colors! Keep it in mind Disney!
