Yea, the bullpen blows but you are paying a ton of guys money to hit the ball and hit it when it counts. You managed 4 runs against the Royals?
Nope, that’s not going to cut it.
You want to blame somebody, blame the offense. 10 LOB! Not moving runners over, not hitting well with guys in scoring position.

The bullpen was actually pretty solid.
Verlander left the third and fourth runs on base, with nobody out, when Leyland yanked him. Leyland may have left JV in a batter too long, but that’s hindsight. Either way, you need better than four earnies through six from your ace against KC.
Also, through the first couple innings, the offense only managed one run on seven hits. That won’t cut it, either.

In other news, Freeman Hendrix sat in the Tiger Den seats behind me and Madd Dogg. He was with his wife and maybe his son or bodyguard.
He received the typical “hey, yo, we need a new mayor” comments all game long. When some guy yelled, “hey Freeman, where’s Kwame?” Hendrix put his arms over his head, sort of in the fetal position, to suggest that Assbag is hiding. Well played.
