I have an admission, something that I’ve been keeping a secret since sometime in 2005….
I absolutely can’t stand Chauncey Billups….
In fact, you could say I hate him.
Since winning the title in 2004, Chauncey Billups has taken the “fat cat” routine to new heights.
And its that attitude that permeates to his other teammates.
Some will say Sheed is the emotional leader of this team but isn’t Chauncey the captain, isn’t he the guy players look to?
I once heard an absurd statement from a Piston fan comparing Chauncey to the legendary Isiah Thomas.
I actually slapped them in the fact after they said that…you know, one of those good pimp slaps…
Can you imagine Isiah Thomas not doing everything in his power to will his team to victory?
Can you imagine Isiah not fighting a player in practice to show how much he wanted to win?
Do you see that in Chauncey?
I sure as hell don’t.
The laissez-faire way he goes about things doesn’t say it either.
I’m sure many will say that he’s hurt this year, why are you picking on him? But this happened well before that. This happened when he couldn’t get a shot off in Game 7 of the finals in 2005. This happened when he got outplayed by Jason Williams in the deciding game of the 2006 ECF. This happened when he got shut down by Cleveland last year and got outplayed by the likes of Eric Snow and Boobie Gibson.
I mean, you really have to reconsider your place in history when you lose out to a guy named Boobie…
And when the Pistons lose this series because Chauncey doesn’t realize that his “ole” defense and lack of mobility is killing the team, and when he doesn’t realize that rookie Rodney Stuckey is the better option, that my friends is when the Pistons should say…
Goodbye Chauncey, it was nice having you here

Easy Andy. While Chauncey isn’t Isiah, the Pistons need him to win and he is better than you think he is. I think you are in denial that we don’t have a point guard like Isiah.
