After much speculation, Usmagazine.com has confirmed Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have split.

“Tony did dump Jessica,” a source close to the quarterback told Us. “Of course, she’s upset!”

Part of the reason for the break up after only six months?

“This Jen and John Mayer thing is eating her up, and she just can’t handle it — and Tony has basically had enough,” a Simpson pal told Us. “She’s too much to handle.” (Us Magazine)

Anyone familiar with this site knows what they’re talking about. And I completely feel for her. Mayer is a freakin’ Yankees fan?

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson may be done, but her dad still wants the quarterback to “support the family” at Ashlee’s weekend wedding.

“Joe has called Tony and asked him to come to show support for the wedding,” a source tells Usmagzine.com.

It’s unclear if Romo accepted Joe’s request, but he’s scheduled to fly into L.A. over the weekend. (Us Magazine)

Are they back on?

Jessica Simpson was seen having lunch with Tony Romo in L.A. Friday at Katsuya after three weeks of not being photographed together and widespread reports the couple had split.

Columnist Alan Peppard of The Dallas Morning News reported Simpson and Romo were dunzo Thursday.

So they’re back on? Off? Where are my pants?

Another report in the Chicago Sun-Times said Romo grew tired of Simpson’s increasingly meddlesome father Joe. (Us Magazine)

Gee, that’s hard to believe… Especially since Joe was the reason that the two of them got together in the first place.

While reports have surfaced recently that the singer-athlete duo have broken up, a source close Jessica Simpson said Romo will serve as her date to her younger sister’s wedding, People magazine reported Friday.

In addition to the source’s information, a representative for Simpson said this week that there is no validity to the recent break-up rumors.

“It’s not true,” representative Cindi Berger said. (UPI)

So what about this chick (above), who is blonde, and not Jessica? And what about the part where Jessica is bad in the sack? Those are questions that we may never know the answers to I guess. If only he had stuck with Sophia Bush. Oh wait, that’s right, he never actually dated her.

Can we now get back to not caring about Tonica and hating the Cowboys? I think we can. And hey, at least the Cowboys aren’t the Jets.
