I think we can all agree that Jonathon Papelbon is a douche. From his stupid Riverdance to his lame attempt at Spanish.
Good to see Polanco shut his mouth off for at least one night.
Guyism is 2-0 in Detroit games attended this week. Maybe the Red Wings need my luck tonight?

what a game!
but…why did Leyland pull Miner, who was pitching quite well for Cruceta????
and even though somehow Joyce luckily got on base on the hit, why didn’t we give Marcus T a try?
and why are we trying a hit and run or stolen base from 2nd to 3rd with sheff and maggs? sheff was hitting well…let him try to make contact, with a good leadoff, maggs wouldve scored with just about any decent hit, or at least it wouldn’t have been a inning ending DP like it was.
I’m irritated w/Leyland right now, it felt like he was panicking…
glad they won tho

IMO, Polanco saved Leyland from getting a lot of heat today….His decision in the 8th inning was completely unexplainable….the strike em out, throw em out almost deflated the team

No, I think we can agree that Papelbon is the best closer in baseball, and was let down last night by a rotten shortstop.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again – Leyland’s in-game management is shaky, at best.
He was bailed out last night. I think baseball is the hardest sport to manage/coach and his job is far from easy, but he makes some very bad decisions.

Counterpoint: If Sheffield would have just hit his usual dribbler to the 3rd basemen, the runners would have moved up and prevented a rally killing double play.
