As many of you know I despise all things Boston. The Celtics, the Sox, the Pats, everything…

But I find myself a little elated with each win in the Finals from them.

Why?

Why would a supposed Boston hater be happy that the Celtics are close to winning yet another NBA finals?

One reason, One person…..

Phil Jackson

The most overrated coach in the history of professional sports.

Yes. And that is not to say that Jackson is not a good coach, perhaps even great. But to me, he doesn’t even sniff Red Auerbach’s jock.

In fact, if matched up against Auerbach in a game, I believe Red could take five quality NBA Players and beat Phil and a team of all-stars by twenty points.

Shortly afterwards, Red would probably pull out his cigar and use “The Last Season” as his ash tray and tell Phil to stick that Zen Buddha where the sun don’t shine.

If the Lakers lose this finals, it will be two times in a row where they have entered in as heavy favorites and lost.

In 2004, not a single soul, including Detroit fans could have predicted a Pistons championship.

The star power of the Lakers seemed too much. But the mighty Phil Jackson couldn’t reign in Kobe Bryant and couldn’t appease an upset Shaq.

And you know what?

Handling personalities and team chemistry is supposed to be his M.O.

Again, what a joke.

So, while I may be annoyed with Celtics fans if they win, while I may be annoyed with the constant hate emails and messages I receive from the Chowders, while I may be annoyed with the drama of Paul Pierce’s injury, a small part of me will crack a smile knowing Phil Jackson won’t beat out the greatest basketball mind of all-time.
