YOU SIR, ARE NO WILLIS REED

More from A. Isaac

Photobucket

if I hear one more reference to Paul Pierce pulling a Willis Reed last night, I’m going to hang myself.

Willis Reed was legitimately hurt when he limped out onto the floor in Game 7 of the 1970 Finals. He was hurt so bad, he couldn’t play more than 15 minutes that game. He was dragging his leg as he ran up the court.

Pierce was carried off to the locker room because he said he heard a pop but miraculously his “injured knee” didn’t stop him from taking one of the worst flops I’ve ever seen on Derrick Fisher.

It was as if he transformed himself into the black version of Manu Ginobili.

Truly an embarrassment to basketball.

As my sister would say so eloquently Mr. Pierce,

Save the Drama for yo mama.

The NBA is near 100% trash. There’s a hate-uh in this house, if you see me, point me out.

However, I can’t dog Paul Pierce here. He didn’t go down just so he could make a Willis Reed-type return. We have all been in his spot, where we initially thought we hurt ourselves a lot worse than we actually did. I’m sure it wasn’t his intention to cause “drama”. Your issue shouldn’t be with Paul Pierce, it should be with the media (again). To make an unfair, but mostly-true blanket statement, the media sucks.

Hate to tell you… Pierce is legitimately hurt. He was hobbling around all day today. I know everyone wants to be a cynic, but Pierce is trying to win games… not make commercials.

It’s like a guy can’t win for coming back from what he thought was a bad injury. And I’m sorry if people who haven’t played sports don’t know what its like to get through an injury on adrenaline.

Don’t blame Paul Pierce because some writers want to turn this into more than it was. I don’t even think HE’D say it was like Willis Reed. Paul just gutted out an injury and helped his team win. You want to focus your venom… focus it on the writers.

Pierce didn’t ask for the wheel chair. It was just the fastest way to get him to the locker room without being awkwardly carried.

Its not Pierce’s fault ABC had 2 cameras back there.

I understand that it wasn’t entirely on Pierce, but his injury wasn’t the type that needed that much assistance…wait it out for five minutes and then walk off the court if need be….

    The dramatics were too much…

The injury was clearly his right knee. There was nothing wrong with his left leg. No Wheelchair necessary; a teammate on each shoulder would have gotten the job done.

This same blog ripped Dwayne Wade for needing a wheelchair for a wrist injury. WOI is consistent and Pierce deserves a Dundy.

I’d also like to add that the WOI recently tore all the cartilage in hise left knee and didn’t crumble down into a heap on the basketball court…

Nor did he need a freakin wheelchair to get to his car outside

pierce & perkins didnt just “bump” knees, it looked like perkins hit him on the side of his knee, which can be very, very painful, even if you can shake it off pretty quickly.

to believe this was faked or done to be dramatic, is the pinnacle of stupidity.

He thought he was hurt.. he FELT the pain.. to assume that he was lightning quick in his thought process to milk this injury for some dramatic effect is just plain dumb. yes, DUMB.

pierce didn’t wait for years to get to this moment, ( the thing he & every NBA star desires ) just to pull some cheap stunt.

if you think he did, your just as stupid as the moron writers suddenly trying to compare him with willis reed.

    AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE

I love people who post something and say:

    “And that’s the bottom line”

    Really?

    Thanks Stone Cold.

Should I have a steveweiser next?

Again, Pierce’s injury wasn’t obviously bad considering he came back a few minutes, therefore his reaction to said injury was dramatic.

If you don’t agree with that, so be it.

    We will disagree

So sorry Knicks. So very sorry. Yes, Reed and 4 other guys won the Knicks one championship. But that one is all the Knicks are ever going to get. EVER.

    Green 17!
