Would you be willing to haul 95,000 pounds on a semi at no more than 15 MPH over a road made of ice covering freezing cold water deep enough to kill you if it the ice breaks? What if it meant working for one of the richest diamond mines in the world? Yeah, I’d still pass too, but these guys don’t. And they have been doing it for decades. 40 degrees below zero temps be damned.
This DVD, Ice Road Truckers: On and Off the Ice by The History Channel, contains three specials including Ice Road Truckers: Then and Now, which gives us a peek into how it all got started and what brings these people to the ice deserts of Canada. Things like radium, uranium, gold, and of course, diamonds. The second and third parts involve a round table discussion covering what these guys do and go through and why the heck they do it.
The coolest part of this DVD is that it’s all real and put together with The History Channel’s typical thoroughness and excellent video quality. Ice Road Truckers: On and Off the Ice is definitely a DVD Guys Like.

NOTE: We will be giving away two copies of this DVD in the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled and your pants zipped.
