UPDATE: This contest is complete. We have another contest coming up soon so come on back! View the comments below to see the winner.
If you are a regular reader of on205th.com, I am betting that you’ll have a good shot at winning this one. There are three women who I go ga-ga over (not Lady Gaga, stop emailing me!). Here’s a small hint: I recently did a post where I named them. Tell me in the comments who those three lovely ladies are. After each reader’s guess I will say whether they got zero, one, two or all three right (winner, winner, chicken dinner!). Guess as many times as you’d like until there’s a winner. If you can name all three you will win two DVDs; one is a multi-DVD set!
The first DVD is Life After People.
THE HISTORY CHANNEL and Academy Award-winning special effects studio Industrial Light and Magic (Star Wars Harry Potter) join forces to imagine the state of planet Earth years after humans disappear. Stunning visual effects show how the environment will change as dams overflow buildings crumble and fires engulf once-mighty cities. Domestic animal life will die out and new species will claim their territory. Books and photographs will be reduced to faded scraps while other signs of our existence may remain for eternity standing as the tombstones of human civilization. Through striking movie-quality special effects coupled with interviews with experts in the fields of engineering botany ecology biology geology climatology and archeology LIFE AFTER PEOPLE sheds light on the state of the world days weeks and years after humans cease to exist.
The second DVD is Modern Marvels – Engineering Disasters, 3-DVD set.
Error is inevitable in all human endeavors but when the undertakings are engineering feats of enormous proportions the smallest mistakes may have devastating consequences. From the Exxon Valdez disaster to a nuclear meltdown at a secret government facility to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina MODERN MARVELS chronicles over 40 of history s most devastating catastrophes and reveals the lessons learned from each one.In 18 thrilling episodes HISTORY® dramatizes the world s most notorious engineering failures using state-of-the-art special effects to investigate not only what went wrong but what can be learned from these spectacular disasters. The catastrophes recounted led to the creation of Superfund sites for the cleanup of toxic waste; improved safety standards for cars planes and ships; and new techniques for building roads bridges and buildings that will withstand nature s most destructive forces. Dark clouds with silver linings MODERN MARVELS: ENGINEERING DISASTERS presents the tragic yet invaluable handmaidens of technological progress.
I’ve seen both of these and they are very entertaining and well worth your time. The two DVD’s together are about a $50 value, so get to guessin’ people!!!
UPDATE: Contest is over. We have a winner. Thanks for playing…

Man…I need to start paying attention to this post. I knew two of the three off the top of my head. I could have scammed some free DVD’s…
Selma Blair is one of the chicks I want to bone…I don’t know if I could limit it to 3.

…and there’s nothing I dig more than engineering disasters, except maybe burly weather like tornadoes and hurricanes. I f*cked up…
