Some people think that Rudy is the greatest college football film of all-time. Those people are either Irish or retarded.
The Program which came out in 1993 is not only a better movie, but its also not about Notre Dame…
Thank God!
Here are some trivia questions….
1. What was the name of the school?
2. What position did Alvin Mack play?
3. What famous actress (pictured here) played a tutor in this movie?

4. Kane’s girlfriend played what sport?

5. What was Omar Epps’ characters name?
6. Joe Kane was going up head to head for the Heisman against the quarterback of what school?
7. What famous scene was cut from the edited version of the movie because kids were trying the same stunt?
8. Steve Lattimer, the roid induced tackle played what position before he started?

9. What did James Caan’s daughter get kicked out of school for?

10. What incident caused Joe Kane to go to Rehab?

I haven’t seen The Program all the way through, but Rudy is a better movie, despite being about Notre Lame. And, it may not be close.

Would you also have accepted the answer that Mack played wide receiver for the Texas State Armadillos before transferring and changing his name from Featherstone?
The Program is definitely a better football movie. Never in the huddle did I ever hear a line from Rudy, however our quarterback quoted Kane a few times in the huddle. I played linebacker and had to use the kill everybody and let the paramedics sort them out line in the defensive huddle when calling for an all-out blitz.

Mack and Featherstone were absolutely played by the same character. I found it funny because Featherstone was a scrawny wide receiver, while Mack was a bulked up linebacker.
And yes, I played linebacker and was in the same huddle as the quarterback. I played both offense and defense.

Awesome, awesome post. I worked at a video store in high school when this came out and had the teaser video with the yellow line stunt scene. Kudos to questions and the man with the correct answers.
