For years, local companies would bail out the Lions and buy the last several thousand tickets. Just a handful of weeks ago, furniture company Gardener White bought up 3000 right before the deadline.
But after 50 straight sellouts, nobody could bail out the Lions this time. The Lions will endure their first television blackout of the Ford Field era.
And I can tell you as a fan of the NFL, we are all better off here in Detroit.
We are all better off not having to endure watching these aholes fall down 21-0 only to stage a weak ass comeback.
We are all better off watching somewhat competitive and meaningful football.
And we are all better off not watching quarterback throwaway Dan Orlovsky run out of the back of the end zone like this is pop warner football

As a Redskins fan in Detroit, this blows.
