The Phillies winning the World Series triggered the expected fan celebration chaos in Philly (see here and here). Seems like no matter who wins the World Series each year the fans in that town cause mass destruction doesn’t it? This got me to wondering about other sports and other countries, and whether they were as crazy as American baseball fans. So I went in search of the ‘best’ fan riots caught on video in recent sports memory. Here’s what I came up with…
Riots are always fun til the stadium collapses…
All I got out of the commentary here was, “Hooligans…”
Rioting in kickboxing? Sure, why not?
High school basketball at Madison Square Garden…
Montreal won the Cup! Sacre bleu!
This was at Michigan State after a… loss?!
Riddick Bowe v. Andrew Golota … riot in the ring…
Florida wins the BCS! Set the furniture on fire!
Who brings flares to a basketball game? Serbians!
And the grandaddy of them all… Ron Artest vs. Detroit…
Hmmm… I guess our baseball ‘riots’ aren’t so bad after all… (And I really could have done 20 or 30 of these on soccer alone, but what fun would that have been?) Got one you think we should add to the list? Comment below and give us a link!

Montreal didn’t win the cup that day. They won a game that disqualified Boston. After that they had to play Philly….. they won the cup.
