Like many others, I was a big fan of the Rocky series. Well, the Rocky Series through Rocky 4. I refuse to think about what happened beyond that and I’ve erased it from my memory.
Anyways, to me, the defining moment of the series was the death of Apollo Creed. Many Rocky fans believe that Mickey’s death carried more weight but I choose to ignore that opinion. Apollo was the lifeblood of Rocky. He was the only reason Balboa was ever given a chance to fight in the first place.
When Rocky 4 came along and that douche Russian took the exhibition match too far, Apollo laid there on the mat convulsing. We were led to believe that Apollo died.
Folks, I have a shocking revelation for you.
Not only is Apollo alive and well and living in Chicago, but he’s got a son who boxes too.
Here is Apollo on ER last night…

Now, Apollo was a bit shy about his accomplishments. He tells the doctor that he was barely a pro and that he wants his son to hang it up before its too late.
Sorta strange I guess. The Apollo I know was never modest like that…

This reminds me of when DC comics destroy/rewrite their comics to fit the movies. Now ER is rewriting Rocky.
Maybe this is the from the movie Rocky 3.5 and this is the ghost of Christmas Future and he is trying to tell Apollo to hang it up.

I call that neither “alive” nor “well.” Remember Action Jackson? Now that was a good movie!
