From this site comes an image of an essay about school lunch written by a sixth grader in inner-city Philadelphia. Is he prepared for real life? You be the judge.

For clarification’s sake, he’s referring to “turkey nuggets”, not black children who drive trucks. Just to avoid any confusion.
I’m really proud of our American educational system. I mean, not only have we completely failed this child who’s bound to grow up to be, shall we say, a complete drain on society (or possibly a successful athlete), but we also published his complete embarrassment to the entire world. USA! USA! USA!!

I bet that kid is black, and I bet the white kids and other minorities at that school don’t have such a terrible grasp of the language.
It’s not the schools. It’s the black urban subculture that says being smart is bad for you. The same one that says the path to success is sports and music, not academics. The same one that says you can know less of the English language than your average new Mexican immigrant, and still complain when other people think you’re an idiot. The same one that says the white man is the reason you can’t get a decent job, or have all the gold chains and chrome rims your pathetic excuse for a brain thinks you need. The same one that will continue to say that, even though we now have a black president.
Whitey can only do so much to pick your sorry stupid asses up off the street (huge school budgets, affirmative action, government housing assistance, welfare checks, food stamps, minority-only scholarships, etc). At some point, you have to walk on your own.

it\’s not necessarily the \”ghetto subculture\” that is causing this. it\’s the system of funding to education and the hierarchy of our government. believe what you want, but there are schools out there that have no permanent teachers, sewage leaks everywhere, and have no ability to change the current situation.
society basically just dunks the minorities under water and doesn\’t let go until they plunge them deeper and deeper.
this language is not only taught in the schools by peers, but the government puts so low standards in these schools that the teachers are paid to do this. thus the young will never know better and grow up to stay where they are and for the process to continue. even as new welfare laws are created each year to wipe out all the poor people.
like i said: believe what you want. but this is how society has turned out.
for more information or a good book to read that is resourceful I recommend \”Amazing Grace\” by Johnathon Kozol.
