I love how everyone just assumes that these are regular or poorly-qualified people doing something illegal. There are tons of possibilities for who these people are and how they've come to have this cat, whether legitimate or not.

Wow...I can't wait to see your dumbass on the news after your "jungle cat" fucking eats you. Then the poor "jungle cat" is going to be put down for following its natural instincts...to fucking hunt and kill for food. You idiot...we see how much you care for animals...

Sad.. I've worked with several wildlife rescue facilities and see the end result of people attempting to own animals that are wild. The results can be extremely sad if not tragic in the end. Most of the animals that we took care of were abandoned by their owners at the point that they could no longer control the animal, or worse when they've injured someone.(which usually ends up with Fish and Wildlife destroying the animal because they are a "Threat" to humans) Thousands of these animals are destroyed every year because of owner negligence or just plain stupidity. As animals age, their natural instincts become more predominant. For the first year, or even couple of years they can be manageable. In rare cases when an owner has time to completely dedicate to giving them attention and constant interaction, they may be ok and not have incident. However even the most calm of the big cats can turn at a moments notice simply from instinct. I have seen many Tigers that can be very sweet 99% of the time, instantly turn the moment someone is compromised. An accidental trip, an apparent injury, or just turning your back and the animal can attack without warning. Instinctual and of no fault of the animal... however when it happens it is the animal that is destroyed and usually the idiot human who thought they could control a wild animal gets away with minor injury. Stories like these make me sad because it facilitates an excuse for these lunatics to think they can somehow handle ownership.

They need to go to jail if there actually stealing chickens thats someones lively hood.
The risk of infection from a number of diseases by having a live/raw chicken/rooster is a threat to your domestic cat and yourselves. I hope this cat never decides to go and eat your other cat. To bad I do not know where they live because it would be a call to the local fish and game services.

Although I am against keeping wild animals as pets, it seems we tend to forget the fact that if given the opportunity, most domestic cats will slaughter birds and rodents. They are really not that much more domesticated in that regard. We also have to realize that domesticated animals were once wild kin and so the only way to get truly new varieties of domestic animals is to start by taming wild ones.

All that being said, we should not be taking endangered species out of the wild illegally just because they seem like a cool animal to own. Most of these animals are not good pets and their care should be left to trained professionals. If you like fishing cats, donate money to preserve their habitat rather than buying one from somewhere that likely has no regard for their continued survival as a species.

"Theoretically you should let wild animals be, you know, wild animals."

There's a reason for this. Wild animals are dangerous... Hell house cats are dangerous! (My cat is a huntress known for clawing at people's faces if they get too close.)

Now don't get me wrong, I love animals. I think that there's actually very little difference between us and them and most animals and humans can be part of family units...

...So long as it's handled properly. The average Joe can't do this shit, hell even professionals mess up sometimes (look at Steve Erwin).

So while cool, this definitely goes under the "bad idea" category.

AllAboutTheCats, I think it's adorable. But if you're having a CHICKEN SACRIFICE in your kitchen, maybe this cat isn't totally designed to be domesticated. Just my .02.

Its crazy having a wild animal like that in your home. Domesticated cats are fine, big cats are not. So many stupid people had those as mascots and pets in private zoos and LET THEM GO!!! in my country. Sick bastards. Now, not only do we have some of the worlds deadliest insects, sharks and snakes, but hey! we also have friggin' big cats in our wild. Lovely...thankyou to all the assholes who did that. May you burn in hell.
