PISTONS WEEKLY WRAP-UP

More from A. Isaac

Regular WOI Pistons Contributor Lydia weighs in on the Pistons 7 game winning streak(broken late last night by the Blazers)…

Things are looking up for our Pistons. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games, winning 7 in a row. Averages opponent score over the last 11 games, 86 points-not too bad. They actually look comfortable with Curry’s dizzying lineup changes, which means they are getting comfortable with each other and more important, with Iverson, and he with them. Will the momentum last? Who knows? It’s still early, no reason to panic, take it one game at a time. While some wins have been ugly, there has been very slooooow progress made in their game. This, with Rip and Sheed out for a few games. Not bad. Good practice for the bench, which is showing amazing improvement and playing better than almost any other bench in the NBA (including Boston’s-personally, I think their bench is Boston’s weak point).

Are there still concerns? Absolutely. If I have to watch the Pistons accumulate a 15 point lead in the 2nd-3rd quarter, only to have it cut down to 4 points with 10 seconds left, I will break my television. I still say to bring Iverson or Rip off the bench, and only play them together should the situation arise, perhaps against a defensively weak team, where they won’t be able to contain them both. Iverson’s last minute save against the Clippers was perfect, he can take over when it is needed and in those situations, he will rarely disappoint.

Let’s see how the rest of the west coast trip goes. I have a good feeling, let’s hope the momentum continues. Especially against Denver……

“The Pistons have an important decision coming. Either Rip Hamilton or Allen Iverson must become the sixth man. Neither will like the demotion, but there’s no alternative.”
