It’s no surprise to hear that something in Japan will totally f with your perception of how you view…well, life. But this toilet, created as part of an campaign, is pretty amazing and cool.

Georgia Max Coffee chose to redesign the toilets of a number of key ski resorts in Japan. The cubicles were fully wrapped on all sides, so that the person caught short would have a ski jumper’s view when they were sitting on the loo. The person could look down at their skis (simply printed on the floor of the cubicle) and see the steep ski jump slope ahead of them. The toilet paper holder carried the only brand messaging in the cubicle, reading: “Seriously kick-ass intensely sweet for the real coffee super zinging unstoppable Max! Taste-explosion!” The message also featured the URL www.maxcoffee.jp, where visitors could view videos of extreme sports as well as sign up to the MAX community.

I love Japan. They’re so creative. But holy shit is it a terrifying thought to be on the toilet and all of a sudden it starts slaloming away. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to maintain my balance, which would not only lead to a dumping of toilet water and feces on my head, but also a ceramic bowl smashing me in the face. So let’s just say I’m hoping my toilet isn’t reading the Internet right now and taking a look at this bit of art-vertising.

Is there anything in Japan that isn’t terrifying though? Vending machines with used schoolgirl panties, girls getting shit on while wearing wedding dresses, tentacle rape monsters running for political office…it’s like my dreams have come to life and created a thriving economy and technology development infrastructure, only with more short people and less delicious penises.
