It’s Easter on Sunday so what better way to celebrate than a nice early Easter egg hunt. Unless someone left a bear trap-esque device with eggs in it to catch birds out. Then that could be problematic.

AN EASTER EGG hunt ended in disaster when a teenage girl tripped an illegal hunting trap baited with birds’ eggs.

Carina Faerber, 13, mistook the bait for chocolate eggs, setting off the hair trigger of a vicious razor-sharp gin-trap that left her hand hanging by a thread.

Her wrist was broken and almost severed altogether when she tried to pick up the eggs – used to lure weasels in woods near her house in Weisskirchen, Austria.

Her screams alerted local walkers who dialed emergency services, as reported by the Austrian Times.

Police say the eggs were left as bait by a huntsman trying to snare a weasel.

That was probably the weasel’s plan all along. Very weaselly, that weasel. He really weaseled his way out of that one. The weasel did.

To be fair to the hunter, this girl might be some shade of retarded. When you’re 13 and can’t quite compute that the uncolored eggs sitting in a bear trap (or, if you don’t know a bear trap, DANGEROUS METAL THING WITH RAZOR SHARP BLADES) might not be part of your Easter egg hunt, you may want to just call it a life. Unless this girl really picks up the slack, she’s going to end up in a life of working minimum wage jobs, popping out equally retarded babies, and getting easily distracted by shiny things.
