Furthermore, if I'm not mistaken as many women as men make clothes in India (and traditionally women have made their own clothes)…so I do believe women control what they wear.

Jeans are not at all decent attires for Indian women. They project women as Sexual objects and tomboys in the eyes of men. For Indian woman posture, saree or salwar suits best. There are several reasons for the increase of sexual harrasments, rapes, and eve teasing in India. Girls wearing tight, low waist jeans is one of the strong reasons. Now days girls are losing their girlhood and are resembling tomboys. Only when they raped, they will realize that they are women. They are wearing seductive jeans in the name of comfort. Can we adore or imagine a Goddess in Jeans?
