Steven Seagal: Cop in real life

More from Chris Spags

A&E is unleashing a new “real life” series about Steven Seagal’s “actual work” as a “police officer” in between “movie roles.” According to the show, Seagal has been working as a deputy sheriff in his home town for 20 years and now he’s let this very private part of his life hit the public eye in the new show Steven Seagal: Lawman. And Fatman, though that seems to be left out of the official title.

Now assuming Seagal is doing the work of a regular cop, this is pretty cool. But at the same time, I’d be a little concerned about Steven Seagal publicly representing my town’s police force. Cops have to do a lot to dispel stereotypes about their work, but to see Seagal fatly moving from the movie screen (or, more accurately, straight-to-DVD bargain bin at your local gas station) to saving the day isn’t going to do a whole lot to make people think that cops are uniquely qualified to protect us. You could pretty much build a Jello replica of Steven Seagal and it’d do the same quality of work. And have the same body density.

On the plus side, as seen at 0:49, there will be running. And as you may have seen here before, Steven Seagal looks awesome when he runs.

Do you really think making fun of someone who is a real cop puts you in a better light? It makes you look like some insecure jerk who has to make fun of everything else because he is nothing. Your brand of putdown humor is not funny. It’s just pathetic, as must be you, as well.

Actually, it’s very funny and you’re just a sad person taking a fat movie star too seriously. Also, “As must be you?” Thanks Yoda.

If youve been a cop for 20 years, I find it hard to believe you havent committed some heinous act of corruption and/or racism. Shame on you and all police officers, its amazing we let people without college degrees police our society (most PD's dont require them). Again, shame on you.

Like him or not he is better then most of us who sit around bashing others instead of doing something. How many can put in the time and be dedicated enough to become a 7th degree black belt. If he makes a difference in one person he has done more then most ever will. I hate it that people hide behind computer screens and post negative comments about others. If people cannot post negative comments most won't post at all.

I will have to agree with some of the othe comments on here. Though I will say out loud that Chris Spags is an idiot. lets see his credentials and what he has accomplished in his life next to Steven Seagal. Though his career has been fading over the years, he still gets out there and does what he knows. If he is able to bring some recognition to what police officers do on a daily basis, to protect the public, then I'm still a fan. Doesnt matter if he has gained some weight with his age. I think most of us have are a little heavier than we were at 30. How about growing up a little Chris, and get a good look in the mirror

He only cares about himself and fame and money. Dont be a fool and buy into the selfserving nonsense of people like Seagal. Hes been know to be a bully and slimeball for years.
For all those who think he is actually tough, Gene Lebell (60 years at the time) put him in a sleeper hold and he shat his pants. Think about that dumbasses.
