Case 1: Danny Hope, Purdue Football Coach
After finally beating Michigan in Ann Arbor for the first time in 40+ years, Purdue coach Danny Hope decided that taking the high road wasn’t in his best interests. Instead, at the post-game handshake with UM coach Rich Rodriguez, he acted like a child. The back story of all this is that one of his offensive linemen was suspended for a game earlier in the season for this late hit.
Supposedly, it was Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez who sent in the tape to the Big Ten (although he denies it). Rodriguez, who isn’t exactly an upstanding citizen himself was trying to point out that his own player was suspended for a somewhat similar offense. Either way, at the end of the game coach Danny Hope brought this offensive linemen out and they blamed RichRod for getting him suspended (never mind that his hit came after the game was over). Way to show your players class buddy. You won the game, move on.
Case 2: DeAngelo Hall
Really, there’s nothing to explain here. DeAngelo Hall is one of the biggest douchebags in the NFL. And that’s saying a lot. After taking trash about the Falcons GM earlier in the week, Hall got into it with several players and even coach Mike Smith on the sideline after a late hit by his teammate.
