Changing your name is usually an indicator of one of three things
1) You’re hiding from the government because you don’t want to pay taxes
2) You’re in witness protection
3) You have a new career in the adult film industry
For Briana, or Brandy Blair as she now likes to be called, it’s option 3.
When her contract ended 4 months ago as an Atlanta Hawks dancer, she found her calling as a porn star.
“I’ve always been pretty open minded,” said Blair, “even though I had always been reserved sexually, I thought I’d give it a try. I had never even posed nude before and all of the sudden I saw this whole other side of myself that I had never seen. It has been a very liberating experience”.
She said that her extensive dance training has helped her immensely in the Porn Industry. She is very aware of her body, her movements and her camera angles…..
She had no expectations when she began acting, but now she sees that she is very good at what she does.
Just to clear a few things up here for people who aren’t as well-schooled in the lingo of the adult film industry…

And if by acting, she means saying 3 lines and taking off her clothes, well then look for “Brandy” to be picking up an Oscar in 2010.

You forgot a few other reasons to change your name- just got married, just got divorced, hiding from former exes, stage name or celebrity. The reason most porn names are changed is to make it stand out in that industry & not to hide as use to be the case. Porn is good now you make lots of cash in them now if your a woman as they make over 4000 titles every year, Hollywood struggles to make a tenth of that. The porn industry was asked by Sony & others what format they preferred Blu-ray or HD-DVD and their comment was it didn't matter cause their customer will buy whatever they produce it on. Given the power of porn and it's upward momentum the last 10 years it'll be considered the thing to do and acceptable here soon.
