Sure a few of these things are inherently dangerous, but as you point out, given a little time, a kid will turn anything into a trip to the ER. Give a kid a down comforter and you've got about 15 minutes before before they turned that into a parachute and are climbing the ladder onto the roof. I was mid air at the time, and landed smack on his head. I ended up doing that twice as long as I knew him. Sledding horror story: We had a nice hill out back our house, in the country. You know, where they have barbed wire fences. One friend ended up hitting some stacked logs, made for a small but effective ramp, got him just airborne enough to leave the ground, somewhere between the lines of barbed wire.
