You never know where you’ll find love. It could be in the poultry section of your grocery store, at a friend’s birthday party, or perhaps on the back of the school bus you’ve driven for the past four years. Well, typically not the last one, unless you’re this 60 year-old gentleman who found himself propositioning a 13 year-old girl on the school bus.

A 60-year-old middle school bus driver was arrested on a charge alleging he asked a 13-year-old student who was riding on his bus to have sex with him.

Quentin E. McKenney, of 41-A Walnut St., Rochester, is free on $25,000 personal recognizance bail following his arrest on a felony count of criminal solicitation. Police Capt. Corey MacDonald said McKenney was arrested on Nov. 25 by Portsmouth Middle School Resource Officer Scott Study, and that the arrest came 20 days after the incident is alleged to have occurred, due to a police investigation.

A four-year local bus driver, McKenney is not a registered sex offender, said MacDonald, who declined to cite any criminal history prior to McKenney’s arraignment. The student was the last to get off the bus on the day of the alleged incident and later disclosed the allegation to a teacher, according to police.

McKenney drove bus number P3 for First Student Bus Company and is “no longer driving the bus,” said MacDonald.

“His conduct as a bus driver is under investigation,” said the police captain.

Well, good thing it’s “under investigation.” If they just high-fived him and punched the girl in the face for being a tease, that might be a somewhat unexpected reaction. Understandable, but unexpected.

But yeah, in summation, bad idea. He should have known this wouldn’t work. If you want easy sex, you should be driving the short bus. Give those bus riders a penny and they’ll love you forever. Plus it’s way easier to parallel park. That was Mr. McKenney’s biggest failing…lack of creativity.
