Paulina Rubio, new ‘X Factor’ judge: Everything you need to know

Paulina Rubio has been named a judge for the next season of Simon Cowell’s X Factor along with Kelly Rowland. We already know a lot about Kelly, but what do we know about Paulina Rubio? Here’s a little primer.

Paulina Rubio is foremost a Mexican singer who began her career as a member of the pop group Timbiriche. She released her first solo album, La Chica Dorada, in 1992 and by 2001 she had the best selling Latin album in the United States and to date has sold over 20 million records worldwide. She has also already done work on similar talent shows on both La Voz… Mexico and La Voz Kids (The Voice… Mexico and The Voice Kids) in Mexico.

In addition to her musical career, Rubio is also quite the businesswoman with her own lipstick, her own fragrance, and a restaurant in Miami Beach, and has done runway modeling as well as commercial work for several companies, which as you can see from the photos over the years (above) makes perfect and wonderful sense.

Rowland and Rubio will replace L.A. Reid and Britney Spears on the panel of judges when X Factor returns to Fox this fall.
