Gary Coleman has died at the age of 42 today. Coleman suffered what appeared to be an intracranial hemorrhage and was hospitalized this past Wednesday. He fell into a coma and rumors began circulating that his death was imminent. RadarOnline reported that the plug was pulled this morning as his wife and father looked on.
Coleman is famous for playing fast-talking Arnold Jackson on the hit show “Different Strokes”. The show aired on NBC for 8 seasons before being canceled and was picked up briefly by ABC. When the show was at its height, Coleman made almost 70,000 an episode. However, his acting career never flourished post “Different Strokes” and he fell on some rather hard financial times the last few years.
He gained some notoriety in 2003 when he ran for governor of California in a recall election. He surprisingly finished 8th garnering over 14,000 votes.
Coleman is survived by his wife, Shannon Price.
