Miranda Kerr chosen to wear the $2.5 million Fantasy Bra

Every year Victoria’s Secret chooses some lucky lass to wear lingerie made up of expensive jewels during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. (Mark your calendar: It’s on CBS in November.) This year they’ve chosen Miranda Kerr to bear the baubled bra. Wanna see it? It’s just over there to the right. $2.5 million, folks.

“I have always wanted to wear the Fantasy Bra, and when my agent called me and told me, I was so excited. It was really special,” Kerr told Us Weekly at the bra’s launch event on Wednesday in NYC.

I can only imagine. I know that I feel special when I put on a brand new pair of underwear right out of the cellophane so this must be like three times more exciting.

This year’s magical brassiere is made up of 142 carats of white and yellow diamonds set among 3,400 hand-set stones and actually costs less than the bra Adriana Lima wore last year.

Previous wearers of these jewel-encrusted undergarments also include Tyra Banks, Marisa Miller, Heidi Klum, and Selita Ebanks. In 2000, Gisele Bundchen wore a bra and panties set worth $15 million.

So, what do you suppose they do with these things once the show is over? Does someone actually buy them? I’m betting Petra and Tamara Ecclestone have at least three of in the bottom drawer of one of their dressers. (And yes, we are your source for everything bra-news-related. Thank you.)
