Selena Gomez has lupus, may give up her singing career

Earlier this year Selena Gomez checked into rehab leading many to wonder exactly why? Her reps said it wasn’t drug-related, but now we know it’s because she’s dealing with lupus.

Her grandfather tells Radar…

“We just saw in some newspaper that she was doing drugs. I called her and said, [you] need to watch out … She was working a lot. She was exhausted. She hardly takes some time out. There was some pressure, first because it’s a lot of work.”

“The doctor was telling her she needs to take some time out It’s just too much pressure what she’s going through. It’s just too much! She doesn’t have a single day’s break … It’s getting to the point with all this pressure … that it’s too much.”

“Everyone was telling her, even her agent and the doctor, ‘Selena take some time to yourself!'”

So she took some time off and her grandfather says that even more time off is forthcoming, plus he says that she’s not that interested in continuing to sing and just wants to focus on acting at some point.

Considering Selena is one of our faves we wish her nothing but good health. Of course I would be completely remiss (and showing tremendously bad taste) if I didn’t share this clip with you below.
