Sarah Paulson Was Pedro Pascal’s Platonic Sugar Mama Back When He Was A Struggling Actor

One thing I’ve noticed about Pedro Pascal is how much other celebrities seem to like him, which certainly says a lot in a town and industry known for its vapidness and hollowness.

Pascal even has one famous friend — acclaimed actress Sarah Paulson — that cares for him so dearly that she helped financially support him back when he was a struggling actor.

“He’s talked about this publicly, but there were times when I would give him my per diem from a job I was working on so that he could have money to feed himself,” Paulson told Esquire, who recently published a feature interview with Pascal.

She also added how much she wants to see him succeed, and thinks he’d be great in action comedies of the past like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.

“You just want him to succeed,” Paulson said. “And that to me, I feel like, is the sign of a major movie star. I’m ready for him to take the reins from the guys from romantic comedies past, like Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson and all these guys. He can be all that. Let’s remake ‘Die Hard’ with Pedro. Remake all the ‘Lethal Weapon’ movies with Pedro.”

Making ends meet certainly isn’t an issue for Pascal these days, as the 48-year-old actor is now the star of two of the biggest shows on television: The Mandalorian and The Last of Us.

In addition to those two behemoth hits, the coming years will see Pascal star in the short film Strange Way of Life alongside Ethan Hawke, and the ensemble comedy The Uninvited. He’s also set to star in the HBO drama My Dentist’s Murder Trial alongside David Harbour.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian is currently streaming on Disney+, with its season finale set to premiere on Wednesday, April 19.
