The 66 most underrated women of 2010

You asked, and now I deliver. After our “66 most overrated women of 2010” article many of you wanted to see who I thought was “underrated”, so here you go. Don’t ever say I don’t listen.

What we have here is a mixture of up-and-comers, the overlooked, and the forgotten. Of the 299 possible spots on the Sexiest/Most Desirable lists of Maxim.com, Askmen.com, and FHM.com these ladies occupied just 20 of those spots (a whopping 6.7%), proving that there are indeed a lot more sexy women the world over than there are spots on silly lists (including mine).

And once again, let me clarify that this is not a list of the 66 sexiest women in the world. If it were, I would have to include a whole slew of the women from the “overrated” list. These are women whose recognition for their hotness I think is lacking, for one reason or another, and that in each case needs to be rectified.

66/65 Demi Lovato/Selena Gomez
I’m calling this one a tie between 17 year-olds Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. If we’re looking for Disney girls to really put our support behind, I think that both of these nice girls deserve it way more than the fake-lesbian kissing, no clothes-wearing Hannah Montana. These two are classically beautiful without all the odd baggage for girls their age.

64 Ashley Greene
23 year-old Twilight star Ashley Greene gets on this list for one reason: She’s better-looking than her co-star Kristen Stewart who was somehow ranked ahead of her on one of the Hot lists. Period. The only thing saving me from poking my eyes out in frustration is that Ash did garner respectable votes on all three lists (#29 Maxim.com, #41 Askmen.com, #20 FHM.com). I can’t wait for the Twilight craze to end and compare where Ashley and K-Stew’s careers go from there.

63 Alison Brie
January Jones and Christina Hendricks get all the attention from being on Mad Men (rightly so), but let’s not forget 26 year-old Alison. In case you’re not a Mad Men fan and missed the years she appeared on the show, you can now see Alison play ‘Annie Edison’ on the television show Community. One way or another expect Alison’s rank of #99 on Maxim.com to go nowhere but up.

62 Arielle Kebbel
24 year-old Arielle has gotten some attention for her role in John Tucker Must Die, but hasn’t really gotten the mainstream attention I think she deserves. Something that could change real soon since she reportedly has three movies coming out in the near future.

61 Alexis Bledel
Despite appearing in 153 episodes of the show Gilmore Girls, 28 year-old former fashion model Alexis still flies under the radar when it comes time for men to select their choices for sexiest women in the world. I’m guessing that’s a result of the voters not spending much time watching that TV show (myself included).

60 Estella Warren
Remember Estella in Planet of the Apes? Remember when Estella was named Maxim’s Hottest Woman in the World in 2000? Well, she’s only 31 years-old guys… And she’s still hot as hell. Unfortunately her career has gone in the direction it goes in when you end up participating in something like The Superstars. Perhaps I need to start a petition to get this woman back into some acting roles that focus on some of her best features such as those that were on display in Planet of the Apes.

59 Isla Fisher
What can I say? I am a sucker for sexy redheads. Unfortunately for me and other fans of this 34 year-old Australian she hasn’t really been seen or heard from much since she had a child in 2007. Maybe her upcoming role in the movie Kiss and Tell (due out in 2011) will get her back to the status she had right after Wedding Crashers.

58 Diora Baird
The 27 year-old former Guess? model is no stranger to most men, but once again it’s the men of the UK who seem to be the only ones to get it right (#96 Askmen.com, #17 FHM.com, unranked Maxim.com). Her acting career is filled with roles in movies that, how shall I put it, were less than stellar, so maybe that’s part of the reason men forget her when they sit down to vote for the sexiest women in the world.

57 Lily Collins
21 year-old Brit Lily Collins loses out in the sexiest women polls mostly due to the fact that she appears on a kiddie show since she is a television host on Nickelodeon. Here’s a fact that might wake the world up to her: She is the daughter of musician Phil Collins and I know how much you guys love sexy kids of celebrities. Perhaps her upcoming role as a warrior priest’s niece in the upcoming flick Priest will be enough to get on her on the “charts” we like to peruse.

56 April Scott
This 31 year-old actress and model from Poplar Bluff, Missouri played Daisy Duke in the highly-ignored The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning in 2007 and other than being Model #14 on Deal or No Deal it was pretty much the highlight of her career so far. That’s not counting her role in this year’s The Penthouse, a National Lampoon movie that no one has seen/will see. Someone get her a good job! Please?

55 Christina Ricci
Since I noticed how much men seem to like child actors who grew up and turned out to be sexy I find it odd that 30 year-old Christina isn’t given more love. Maybe she’s too old for you now? All I know is that she has a rockin’ body and isn’t afraid to show it. Two major points in her favor in my book.

54 Jenna Dewan
This 29 year-old actress, producer, dancer, and former model (hey, it’s what Wiki says she is) played Kendra Wilson in a couple of episodes of Melrose Place (the new one – the one no one watched) which explains why she is so low on guys’ radar. Maybe her role in this year’s The Legend of Hell’s Gate: An American Conspiracy will help. Probably not. Sigh…

53 Lara Bingle
22 year-old Lara Bingle is an Australian model that if things continue to go the way they are will soon be on well-known the world over. Bingle has been a regular on major magazine covers down under for a few years now and has all the “skills” necessary for her to make the move to a larger stage.

52 Katie Cassidy
Of all the ladies who were/are on 90210 [Edit: and Melrose Place!] who garner attention, it seems that Katie gets the least while deserving the most. I guess when you’re not running around kissing girls and falling out of your top on a regular basis you just don’t get as much press as some of the other people who work on those shows. Class is way underrated.

51 Jessica Stroup
This 90210 product also takes the high road (for the most part) and who, if she plays her cards right, could have a long, successful career in Hollywood based on her cuteness (and sexiness) factor alone.

50 Sarah Harding
How could any woman in the same singing group as Cheryl Tweedy not be underrated? It’s simply not possible. That being said, Sarah would hold her own in any setting in which Cheryl wasn’t around. Proof of this is the fact that the boys of Britain gave her a #35 ranking on FHM.com. She’s only 28 so there’s still time for us ugly Americans to get on board as well.

49 Jamie-Lynn Sigler
When her role as Meadow Soprano came to an end so did the high opinion many men had of 29 year-old Jamie-Lynn. She did recapture our attention in her brief stint on Entourage, but that was short-lived and she receded into our memory banks again. All of this is really too bad, because JLS deserves better.

48 Tricia Helfer
I truly don’t understand why this 36 year-old Canadian actress and former model (posed in Playboy people!) doesn’t garner the support that she obviously deserves (did you see her Playboy spread??!). I would have thought that being on a sci-fi show would have put her in the Hot 100 of every list in perpetuity. Alas all Tricia got was a #70 ranking on Askmen.com. So wrong…

47 Mollie King
Have you ever heard of the singing group The Saturdays? If you haven’t let me introduce you to the 23 year-old member of the group that once worked as a model. Frankie Sandford is another member of the group that you really need to get to know, but judging by her #4 ranking on FHM.com’s list, there’s a good chance you already know who she is.

46 Bridget Moynahan
Pretty much the forgotten mom of one of Tom Brady’s kids, which is too bad because this 39 year-old actress and former model is about as beautiful as they come. Granted she hasn’t done any acting of consequence in the last few years, but maybe her signing a deal with Garnier to appear in television and print advertising will remind you why Tom Brady knocked her up in the first place.

45 Rachael Leigh Cook
I don’t know what happened to make 30 year-old Rachael drop off so many men’s radar, but it sure wasn’t the fact that she isn’t attractive anymore. She hasn’t had many good roles on the big screen in recent years which would explain some of that, but with three movies set to come out in 2010 I expect a lot of men to suddenly remember what they’ve been missing.
