The Katy Perry concert experience
I’m never one to turn down an open bar, even if it means enduring thousands of screaming teenagers at a Katy Perry concert, and for that matter I’m willing to endure thousands of screaming teens just to watch Katy and her ‘talents’ jump up and down on stage in a piece of plastic that left very little to the imagination.

The concert, to launch Windows Phone 7, was at Manhattan’s Roseland Ballroom. I happen to be very fond of this venue because it separates the general admission riffraff from the VIP level, enabling me to get in as many cocktails as my body could consume in the hour and a half long performance.

The scene was almost exactly what I expected, thousands of screaming girls all at that age where you’re not sure if they’re in college or still in high school, but who are cute enough where you always feel compelled to hit on them ‘just to see.’ The rest of the crowd was made up of blogger types, Microsoft employees showing off the fancy new HTC HD7, and various other executive types. I’ve had the chance to get my hands on this phone and play around with it some, and as a snobby Android user I have to say I was really impressed by how intuitive the phone is. And the hardware is about as sexy as Katy bending over in this dress.
