These women are set to show the world that they've got what it takes. British actress Sasha Jackson grabbed her first lead film role in 2011 starring in the movie Blue Crush 2, but the role that might garner her more attention will be her upcoming appearance as Jett in 2012's Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader.

For 308 episodes Alexandra Chando played the role of Maddie Coleman on As the World Turns. After not having a regular role on television for a couple of years, Alexandra joined the ABC Family original series The Lying Game in 2011 where she plays identical twins, Emma Becker and Sutton Mercer. After 10 episodes in 2011, The Lying Game has been green-lighted for an additional 10 episodes in 2012.

21 year-old Jane Levy made her rookie acting debut in five episodes of Showtime's Shameless in 2011, which she since parlayed into the first lead role of her career playing Tessa Altman on the ABC sitcom Suburgatory, which the network picked up for a full season back in October.

Relative newcomer to Hollywood Erica Dasher will star as the lead character in a new drama series on ABC Family called Jane by Design, co-starring Andie MacDowell. The show premiered on January 3, 2012.

Mercedes Masohn parlayed her two appearances on Chuck and her role in the 2011 horror film Quarantine 2: Terminal into a regular TV gig playing Isabel Zambada on the new Fox crime drama The Finder, a spin-off of another series on Fox, Bones. Zoe Kravitz, the 23 year-old daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, made a big splash in 2011 with her role on the Showtime series Californication and as Angel Salvadore in the film X-Men: First Class. In late 2011, she completed filming The Boy Who Smells Like Fish, set for release in 2012.

Former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Sarah Shahi began playing the role of Kate Reed in the legal drama Fairly Legal on USA Network in 2011, her first lead role ever in a movie or TV series. In 2012, Shahi will appear on the big screen in two films, Static, starring Sara Paxton, and Bullet to the Head with Sylvester Stallone and Christian Slater.

While many people knew who Kat Dennings was when the CBS sitcom, 2 Broke Girls, hit the airwaves in 2011, not as many were familiar with 25 year-old Beth Behrs. After the show debuted with the highest rating for a fall premiere of a comedy series since 2001, Beth is quickly becoming a household name herself.

Allison Williams is the daughter of NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams who was discovered after a video of her singing the Mad Men theme song on YouTube caught the attention of Judd Apatow who invited her to audition for his new made-for-TV movie, Girls. Allison got the role and the film will air sometime in 2012.

Aussie actress Abbie Cornish got rave reviews in 2009 for her portrayal of Fanny Brawne in the film Bright Star, made men drool as Sweet Pea in the feature film Sucker Punch in 2011, but may become even more famous in 2012 as she plays Wally Winthrop in W.E., an upcoming romantic drama film co-written and directed by Madonna.
31 Noomi Rapace
Swedish actress Noomi Rapace is best known overseas for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the the "Millennium series" (i.e. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), but her recent and upcoming roles in the films Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Prometheus, directed by Ridley Scott and scheduled for release on June 8, 2012, will make her someone Americans are very familiar with as well.
30 Margot Robbie
21 year-old Australian actress Margot Robbie came to Los Angeles in 2011 looking for her first regular acting role in the States and she got it, landing the lead role of Laura Cameron in the ABC drama Pan Am. Despite rumors of the show's cancellation, ABC insists it is still in production.
29 Hannah Ware
British actress Hannah Ware is a relative newcomer to Hollywood, but has already garnered positive reviews for her portrayal of Emma Kane on the new Starz drama Boss, which has been been renewed for a second season in 2012. Hannah also appeared in the recently released NC-17 rated film Shame alongside Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan.
28 Alice Greczyn
Alice Greczyn, a television veteran at only 25 years-old, may have finally found a home playing the role of Madeline Rybak on the ABC Family show The Lying Game. Greczyn is also scheduled to be the model for Victoria Beckam's line of denim and eye wear in 2012.

Singer Christina Grimmie, who turns 18 in March, was discovered on YouTube where she is the fifth most subscribed to musician ever with over 200 million views. In 2011, Christina toured for six weeks as the opening act for Selena Gomez & the Scene. She is set to release her debut LP and begin a tour of her own in the summer of 2012.
26 Jaimie Alexander
Jaimie Alexander, as you may recall, burst on to the scene with the 2011 release of Thor. In 2012, she will appear in the films Loosies and Savannah, all while working on another project with none other than The Governator himself in the film The Last Stand.
25 Aimee Teegarden
The "other girl" from Friday Night Lights (no, the other, other one), Aimee Teegarden, claimed the main role in a film for the second time in her young career in 2011's Prom. 2012 will see Aimee appear in two more films, Beautiful Wave, and AWOL with Liam Hemsworth and the aforementioned Teresa Palmer.
24 Azealia Banks
20 year-old rapper Azealia Banks topped the NME’s "Cool List" in 2011 and her song "212" appeared on NPR Music's 100 Favorite Songs of 2011. Her musical style has been compared to that of Nicki Minaj and she is currently working on an album before heading out on tour in the UK with Two Door Cinema Club.
23 Mary Elizabeth Winstead
27 year-old Winstead seemed to fall off Hollywood's radar for awhile, but her appearance in the 2011 science fiction horror film The Thing and her upcoming starring role as Mary Todd Lincoln in 2012's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter are sure to serve as excellent reminders from this point forward.
22 Berenice Marlohe
French actress and model Berenice Marlohe makes her American film debut in a big way in 2012 by playing a new Bond girl named Severine in the twenty-third installment of the James Bond series of films, Skyfall.
21 Alexandra Daddario
Alexandra Daddario's biggest role to date was playing Annabeth Chase in the 2010 film Percy Jackson & the Olympians, but in 2012 the part-time star of the TV series White Collar and Parenthood gets her scream queen on in the re-boot of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre film franchise, Leatherface 3D.
20 Lais Ribeiro
20 year-old Brazilian fashion model Lais Ribeiro became one of the latest members of the Victoria's Secret Angels in 2011. With Alessandra Ambrosio and Lily Aldridge both being pregnant in 2012 expect to see even more of Ribeiro. Since debuting as a runway model in the fall of 2010 Lais has also worked for Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace.
19 Elsa Hosk
In 2011, 23 year-old Swedish fashion model Elsa Hosk made her first appearances in a series of sexy ads for Guess, then followed that up with her first appearance in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The former professional basketball player has also done runway work for Christian Dior, Oscar De La Renta, and appeared on a number of magazine covers since hanging up her sneakers.
18 Leven Rambin
21 year-old Leven Rambin, has made most of her acting appearances on the small screen, most notably on All My Children and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and takes on perhaps the biggest role of her career as Glimmer in the eagerly-anticipated film The Hunger Games in 2012.
17 Saoirse Ronan
Saoirse Ronan, who turns 18 on April 12, has been acting since 2003. In 2011 she followed up her critically acclaimed performance in the 2009 film The Lovely Bones with more critical success playing the lead character in the film Hanna. In 2012, Saoirse will appear in the film Byzantium, about a mother and daughter vampire duo, also starring Gemma Arterton.
16 Brit Marling
Brit Marling joins a cast including Anna Kendrick, Shia LeBeouf and Stanley Tucci in the Robert Redford directed film, The Company You Keep, in 2012. She will also appear in the film Arbitrage with Richard Gere, and The East with Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page, a film she co-wrote.

Claire Danes, best known for playing Angela Chase on the TV series My So-Called Life, a role she played way back in 1994 to much acclaim, made her return to regular television work in 2011 as Carrie Mathison in the new Showtime series Homeland. It looks like that was a good move as she was nominated for a Golden Globe for best actress in a television series drama.

23 year-old Puerto Rican-born fashion model Joan Smalls is well on her way to becoming a household name. Joan made her first appearance in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, was named the new face of Estée Lauder in 2011, and was ranked #12 on Guyism's 2011 100 sexiest fashion models working today list.
13 Gemma Arterton
British actress and former Bond Girl Gemma Arterton has been cast to play the part of Gretel, in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters also starring Jeremy Renner, in which the main characters, 15 years after the house incident, have become bounty hunters who track and kill witches.
12 Riley Keough
Riley Keough, the 22 year-old daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, will be playing the lead role in the aforementioned film Jack & Diane in 2012. Riley will also be appearing in the upcoming films Yellow, Kiss of the Damned, and Magic Mike with Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, and Matthew McConaughey.

AnnaSophia Robb is a movie veteran at the age of just 18 having already appeared in 12 films. 2011 saw AnnaSophia take on the lead role in the biographical film Soul Surfer about surfer Bethany Hamilton and 2012 will see Robb take on perhaps biggest role to date playing Wendy in the film Pan, a spin on the legendary children's tale of Peter Pan.

23 year-old Brazilian model Lisalla Montenegro is a well-known face around these parts, in fact we've called her "the next great supermodel." With good reason too as in 2010 she became one of the faces of Maybelline and in August of 2011 she was announced as a new model for Victoria’s Secret.
9 Kaya Scodelario
Kaya Scodelario, 19, is a British actress and model who snagged her first acting job at age 14 playing the role of Effy Stonem on the British drama Skins, a role she played through 2010. Now she has her sights set on feature films with a possible four movies set to come out in 2012, including Now Is Good with Dakota Fanning.
8 Jessica Chastain
30 year-old actress Jessica Chastain had a monster year in 2011, receiving numerous awards and nominations for her performances in six, yes, six films. The most notable of her film roles was her portrayal of Celia Foote in The Help, for which she received nominations for best supporting actress from both the Golden Globes as well as the Screen Actors Guild. She is only scheduled to appear in four films in 2012.
7 Karlie Kloss
19 year-old Karlie Kloss might have made the biggest splash of all the models to appear on the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show as she received a special segment of her very own. But that was with good reason as Karlie, at just 19 years-old is currently ranked third by models.com on their top 50 models list and Vogue Paris declared her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s.
6 Hayley Atwell
English actress Hayley Atwell broke out on the big screen in 2011 with her role as Agent Peggy Carter in the film Captain America: The First Avenger. MTV Networks' NextMovie.com named her one of the breakout stars to watch for in 2011. We're naming her one to watch in 2012 as she is set to appear in the thriller I, Anna and the police drama The Sweeney.
5 Jessica Perez
Costa Rican model Jessica Perez leaped on to the modeling scene in a big way in 2011 doing her first work for Victoria's Secret, but it was her win in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model search (beating out the likes of Catrinel Menghia and Elisandra Tomacheski) that was, as she stated after the win, her "dream come true."
4 Rooney Mara
Rooney Mara, the daughter of Tim Mara, VP of player evaluation for the New York Giants, ended 2011 with a bang as she played the lead role (and was nominated for a Golden Globe award for best actress) in the much-anticipated drama/thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first of three films Sony will be producing based on the Millennium book series.
3 Juno Temple
British actress Juno Temple garnered her first real attention in the States in 2011 with her role as Queen Anne in The Three Musketeers, but it will be her role as Holly Robinson in The Dark Knight Rises and as Diane in the film Jack and Diane (a story about two teenage girls who meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously) that will firmly plant her on everyone's radar.
2 Lily Collins
Lily Collins is the 22 year-old daughter of world-famous musician and singer Phil Collins, but in 2012 she will become world-famous in her own right as she follows up her memorable appearance in the sci-fi thriller Priest with the lead role in the upcoming Snow White adaption entitled Mirror Mirror, co-starring Julia Roberts.
1 Jennifer Lawrence
Academy Award nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence, 21, takes on her biggest box office challenge in 2012 as she plays the lead role of Katniss Everdeen in the much-hyped film, The Hunger Games. Jennifer is also signed on for the sequel, Catching Fire, scheduled for release in 2013 and will appear in House at the End of the Street, a horror film set to premiere in April of 2012.
