‘Electric City’ trailer packs some shocks

Tom Hanks is producing anime now? Apparently so, and it looks pretty cool. Electric City is a new Web series that he’s making for Yahoo starring the voices of Paul Scheer, Ginnifer Goodwin, Chris Parnell and Hanks himself. I wouldn’t have pegged Tom Hanks as a dude who had a sci-fi epic in him, but this project actually looks pretty damn rad. The animation style is nice and there’s some real budget behind it. The first episode premieres on Yahoo! on July 17th, and the whole thing is scheduled to run 12 episodes.
