‘Frankenweenie’ trailer barks like a dog
K. Thor Jensen Can we learn to love Tim Burton again? Should we? After the myriad disasters that the once-great director has foisted on us in the last few years (most recently Dark Shadows), I can’t really muster up any enthusiasm for his movies. So it’s interesting to see that he’s reaching way back in his pocket with Frankenweenie, a remake of his 1984 stop-motion short film. The new Frankenweenie will be the first black & white film to screen in IMAX 3D, for what that’s worth. The story involves a kid who brings his beloved dog back to life using the power of science. It stars Burton mainstays Winona Ryder and Martin Landau and hits theaters October 5th.
