‘Killing Them Softly’ trailer hits hard
K. Thor Jensen Brad Pitt still can pick ‘em. This looks great. Based on the 1974 crime novel Cogan’s Trade, Killing Them Softly stars Pitt as a mob underling in New Orleans who is hired to scope out locations for a hitman. He quickly gets caught up trying to figure out who robbed a poker game. The whole thing is gritty, dirty and uncompromising – just how I like it – and won raves at Cannes this year. It also stars James Gandolfini and Ray Liotta, two dudes who are very familiar with the Mafia. Killing Them Softly hits theaters on October 19th.
