‘On The Road’ trailer is so Beat

K. Thor Jensen Contributing Writer, Entertainment

If Jack Kerouac were alive today he’d probably be on Twitter. On The Road is one of those books that our parents’ generation reveres but we don’t really get. Jack Kerouac was the most famous writer of the Beat generation, a bunch of dudes in the late 50s who basically acted like hipsters do today, only with less personal electronics. The film adaptation stars Sam Riley as young writer “Sal Paradise” and Garrett Hedlund as “Dean Moriarty,” his guide to the highways and byways of the American psyche. Oh, and Kristen Stewart is in it too. Do we hate her for cheating on R-Patz still or can we just go back to hating her for Twilight? On The Road opens December 21st in the United States.
