WTF? ‘Prometheus’ has aliens we didn’t see?

Okay, this needs to stop. Why couldn’t we see the movie with all this cool stuff? We’ve already talked about the forthcoming Director’s Cut of Prometheus, which Ridley Scott has promised will contain between 20 and 30 minutes more footage that we didn’t see. And now we learn that there were more Engineers?
The film’s opening sequence, in which an Engineer drinks the black liquid and dissolves, has been the subject of a lot of speculation, and TotalFilm has an image from an extended version of the opener which shows another Engineer, this one much older, standing behind our sacrificial lamb. This could tie into the themes of aging and immortality that permeate the movie, but why do we need to wait for the Blu-Ray to put all the pieces together? Shouldn’t a movie be screened in its ideal, complete form?
