Jet Li and a bunch of snake ladies. Do I really need to keep typing here? I have to say, the mythology of China is pretty cool. They’ve got lots of seriously bizarre folk tales that make for incredible movies. Case in point: the legend of the White Snake, where a young scholar falls in love with a gorgeous broad only to discover that she’s a 1,000 year old snake. I doubt that was on her OKCupid profile! This modern updating stars Jet Li as a Buddhist abbott and folds in a bunch of other totally bonkers folk tales as well. It opens here on February 8th.
