VIDEO: A bunch of possible viral “Dark Knight Rises” trailers are out
Chris Spags A bunch of clips were released that seem to be teasing next summer’s release of “The Dark Knight Rises”. Are they fan-made viral trailers or really hastily made teasers for the final chapter in the Christopher Nolan “Batman” trilogy? You decide!
There are three others in the TheFireRises YouTube channel if you wish to try your best to decipher more.
My problem: Clearly this works. These videos have over 100,000 views in a couple days and hundreds of comments of Batman fans trying to figure out if they’re real or fake, what’s going on in them, etc. But why? The graphics for the fake GCN news update look like they were made in MS Paint and feature prisoners chanting about butter over really poor CGI. Even if they are real and there’s a .01 second screencap of Tom Hardy as Bane, is it worth all this effort to see a muscular man covered in UHF channel snow for a movie not coming out for another 13 months? I’d venture not.
Either way, if these are real teasers for “The Dark Knight Rises”, expect three hours of footage shot through a 7-Eleven surveillance camera of prisoners chanting and Playstation 1 “Hot Shots Golf” graphics. Should be a triumph!
