VIDEO: This is what a $10 million deleted scene from “Superman Returns” looks like
What could you do with $10 million? Prepare for your children’s college fund? Retire? ORRRR you could make a six minute obscenely movie scene designed to be the opening to 2006′s Superman Returns like this one that hit the cutting floor and is now out on the extended Bluray edition.
I didn’t really have any beef with the movie itself…it was plodding and boring at times if I remember correctly. But when you’re making crap like this that, really, serves no purpose and has all of the intrigue and mystery of a dying lion cleaning its genitals, you probably deserve to have your movie labeled a complete bomb.
I’m hoping this week’s Captain America release follows the same concept and opens with a ten minute scene of Chris Evans tying his shoes and then going to the local nickelodeon to watch a newsreel. It might not seem interesting, but you don’t totally understand the character of Steve Rogers until you see how he reacts to a bread shortage in Joplin, Missouri.
