300-pound woman sentenced after squashing her 120-pound boyfriend

So that headline seems fairly innocent (well, other than the guy dying part), but the story might be a bit more malicious than it seems at first. Hefty gal Mia Landingham sat down on her boyfriend/baby daddy, which typically might be adorable. Except when the woman outweighs the man by 180 lbs and ends up crushing him to death. And now she’s sentenced to three years of..probation.

On Wednesday, Mia Landingham, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of her 120 lb. boyfriend, Mikal Middleton-Bey.

It happened back in August during an altercation between the couple, who share three children together.

“I just want to let you know how much you have hurt us by taking Mikal away from us,” said Sharon Phillips, the victim’s step-mother.

Landingham then told the judge she was sorry for squashing the father of her children. “I just want to say that I am sincerely sorry about this situation… I wish I could take it back.”

“So basically you can say that I can go sit on somebody and get probation?” said one of the victim’s sister[s].

Now if the woman had just sat on him and crushed him to death as they were playing around, that would be one thing. Accidents happen, particularly when you’re dating and living with a woolly mammoth. But when the both of you are fighting and she ends up angrily sitting on you, that certainly seems like murder to me. At that point, when you’re dealing with a small man and you get all mad and sit on him with the intent to hurt him, that’s like assault with a deadly weapon. Just because the deadly weapon was acquired through fried food and self-loathing doesn’t make it any less of a deadly weapon.

That said…poor Grimace. What a fall from grace from the glory days of the McDonaldland commercials.
