A teenage girl caught a bigger fish than you ever will

Chris Spags Founder and Editor

Kate Curtis went on a trip to Alaska with her family. And despite her relative lack of interest in the manly activity in fishing, the 16-year-old snagged a monster: An 88-inch, 375-pound halibut.

So here’s a question – Does it really count as catching the fish if you just pull it to the boat but are unable to hold it up in one of those stereotypical fisherman photos? Granted, I don’t know a lot of 16-year-old girls that could easily left a 375-pound fish with one hand, but it just feels like a hollow victory to me.

Oh here I go again, critiquing what teenage girls are tugging on and what they aren’t. Truly a fatal flaw.

See more about Kate’s battle with the fish at CBS Minnesota.
