Deserved or not, there is a lot of discrimination out there in the world against fat people. But one restaurant in Arizona is flipping the script, offering free meals to anyone weighting over 350 pounds.

heart attack grill 309x203 Arizona restaurant will feed anyone over 350 lbs for free Arizona’s Heart Attack Grill hired a new heavyweight spokesperson to get the message out about a new promotion that offers free food to any customers over 350 pounds.

The Arizona Republic has a story about Blair River, a 600-pound man who is acting as the restaurant’s spokesperson for the new campaign. River, pictured left, was hired for to a “modeling contract” to serve as the spokesperson, paying him $100/hour to take part in promotions and YouTube videos.

The restaurant touts its high-calorie menu as a point of pride, offering no diet sodas along with enormous burgers and fries made in lard.

So I imagine there aren’t a whole lot of people who’d be available to take up this promotion in Arizona (how much of the population really weights over 350 pounds?). But still, this sounds like a terrible idea. Allowing 350 pound people to eat for free just seems like a surefire way to lose pounds of food and possibly fingers. It’s like running a whorehouse and giving a coupon for one round of free unprotected sex to everyone with SuperAIDS. At least that way, it’s unlikely someone would die and leave a bloated Elvis corpse on the spot.

At 600 pounds, man’s a good fit for promoting Heart Attack Grill [AZ Central]
