“Barbie” mom gives 7-year-old daughter a coupon for breast implants
Sarah Burge is a 50-year-old woman who has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in making herself look like a real-life Barbie doll. But she’s teaching important lessons to her daughter as well about being comfortable with who you are. And, to do that, she gave her daughter a coupon for a boob job on her seventh birthday.
Burge, a self-professed plastic surgery addict, gave her daughter, Poppy, the coupon after the little girl begged her mother for implants.
Burge says that her daughter can have the surgery after she turns 16 — the legal age for elective surgery in the UK.
Don’t worry feminists out there, it’s totally cool because, according to Mama Burge, “[if Poppy] develops naturally big boobs, she can have something else done with [the coupon].”
According to Sarah, Poppy isn’t interested in childlike things so the gift was a natural fit. Among Poppy’s other gifts were thousands of dollars worth of gifts, such as a computer, a pink Swarovski crystal ring and necklace set and a spa trip worth almost $10,000.
Poppy told the Daily Mail, “I can’t wait to be like Mummy with big boobs. They’re pretty.”
Well, uh, that last line is slightly horrific. But at the same time, this is sort of like seeing the son of a world famous pizza man…you can’t be horrified when the son is pleased to be receiving a yellowed paper with a marinara recipe and a filthy brick oven. Maybe you don’t want that for your kid, but it’s a family business. Their family business just happens to be looking like an overinflated hooch.
Plus, it’s like an investment in Poppy’s future. Sure, she could be comfortable with herself and feel like she’s perfect just how she is. Orrrr she could really fill out sweaters and learn to use her new boobs and knowledge of publicity whoring as weapons against the idiocy of men, thus empowering her to become the first female President of Earth. Two sides to every coin.
