“When times get tough, the tough steal 58 containers worth of deodorant,” Connecticut native Joseph Mingolello must have told himself before his brilliant scheme that got him arrested.

What a pile of deodorant might look like.

Police say Mingolello took 58 containers of deodorant — a street value of $188 — from a Job Lot store in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Mingolello allegedly liberated the 58 containers of deodorant by shoving them into his pants, then exiting without paying. When confronted by two store employees, he shoved one and attempted to hit the other.

Mingolello is being held on a $10,000 bond — or approximately 3086 containers of deodorant.

I just hope one of the deodorant companies is out there listening. Nothing says, “Our brand is totally worth it,” to me more than some dude thinking that stealing 58 items worth of it is a good idea. Then again, I’d hope the deodorant would be effective enough as to only require one container to work properly. This is precisely why I could never be an effective deodorant master thief, regardless of what my high school guidance counselor told me.
