On Thursday, former That 70’s Show star and convicted rapist Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years for his heinous crimes.

Masterson, who also starred in series such as Men At Work and The Ranch, was convicted of two charges of forcible rape that stemmed from him raping three women at his Hollywood Hills home between the years 2001 and 2003.

Despite the sadistic nature of his crimes — Masterson reportedly drugged his victims before raping them — his former That 70’s Show co-stars Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher wrote a letter to the case’s judge in defense of the 47-year-old.

Kunis and Kutcher, who met on the set of That 70’s Show and are now married, were two of more than 50 people to write the judge. Masterson’s sex crimes were committed when the trio of them were working together, as That 70’s Show aired from 1998 to 2006.

In his letter, Kutcher said that he doesn’t think Masterson is an “ongoing harm to society” and that taking him away from his daughter would be an injustice.

“While I’m aware that the judgement has been cast as guilty on two counts of rape by force and the victims have a great desire for justice, I hope that my testament to his character is taken into consideration in sentencing,” Kutcher’s letter reads.

“I do not believe he is an ongoing harm to society and having his daughter raised without a present father would a tertiary injustice in and of itself.”

Kunis’ letter struck a similarly shocking tone as she attempted to vouch for Masterson’s “exceptional character”

“I wholeheartedly vouch for Danny Masterson’s exceptional character and the tremendous positive influence he has had on me and the people around him. His dedication to leading a drug-free life and the genuine care he extends to others make him an outstanding role model and friend,” Kunis wrote.

People on Twitter, in addition to generally torching the celebrity couple, also pointed out the hypocrisy of them making a big deal of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Academy Awards back in 2022.

During the trial, the prosecution categorized Masterson as a “violent, serial rapist”, while the judge said that his criminal actions “took away another person’s voice and choice.”

In addition to the prosecution’s and judge’s comments about him, fellow actor and former Church of Scientology member Leah Remini, who was in the courthouse during his sentencing hearing, said that Masterson is a “dangerous rapist” who had help from the Church of Scientology in committing his crimes.

“I am relieved that this dangerous rapist will be off the streets and unable to violently assault and rape women with the help of Scientology, a multi-billion-dollar criminal organization with tax-exempt status,” Remini said.

Masterson, who did not speak during his sentencing and was facing the prospect of life in jail, is reportedly on 24-hour surveillance following the passing down of his sentence.
